SHOES FOR SURE!
Ever since we remember ourselves we have taken great pains over what
to do to protect our feet but also make a statement on walking. Ancient
Greeks did the same with sandals, Eskimos with furry boots, Indians with
fringed boots and moccasins. Finding the right match between shoes and
garments could make or break an outfit any time during the day.
Nowadays,
more than ever, the shoe industry is forever coming up with so many
diverse ways of catering to every taste, no matter how strange or
paradoxical it might be. Clever fashionable picks need you to get out of
your “comfort zone” and explore new, innovative ways to mingle shoes
and outfits fashionably. A little black or white dress could undergo a
complete transformation given the right shoe match. If you wish to err
on the safe side try a pair of monochrome heels or ballerinas it’s a
common and elegant fit and an all-time favorite but, for those of you,
raring to move to a different direction, the same black or white dress
matched with black over-the-knee boots
or with high-heel gladiator sandals
could easily be a knockout combination and, at the same time make a
fashion statement in avant-garde elegance and style. Or how about
something more sophisticated? A pair of silver double-sole oxfords will
definitely fit the bill.
There
is no shortage of options if you actually wish to radically change an
ordinary outfit into something outstanding, even provocative.
This aside, there is no denying the sexy allure of a pair of stiletto
heels to strut your stuff or waltz your way around, a revamped Marilyn,
poised to take the world by storm: “Give a girl the right shoe, and she can conquer the world”, she quipped.
A
sense of timing and circumstance plays a key role in defining the right
shoe style: flats at coffee time with friends, sneakers at the gym,
rock booties at the movies, sandals during leisurely morning or
afternoon walks. And there are quite a few of us making a laughing stock
out of ourselves limping on high platforms, or even worse, on high
heels at the beach.
And it seems that shoe-fetishes are
hard-wired in the female brain rendering us helpless at the sight of a
coveted pair, a dopamine rush that hits right at the brain’s pleasure
centers and whose only relief is to finally get your hands on the pair, a
feeling similar to sinking your bare feet into the wet sand while
walking at the edge of the shore just after sunset to the gentle sound
of waves lapping against your toes.
Life is too short to resist such a temptation!
KISSES,
M.A.D
